Your genes are not your destiny. They are more like a library — they contain thousands of books, but you choose which ones to read.”
“Your genes are like a library of possibilities, not a blueprint.”
— Steven C. Hayes

“I used to say that we are the authors of our own lives, but I don’t quite believe that anymore. Now, I think of us more as co-authors. We may be the head writer, but others still leave their mark on our story. What we can choose is how much influence they have — and in what direction they shape us. Some of us are fortunate enough to have extraordinary people appear in our lives, helping us revise the pages in the best possible way.”

Richard E. Shook
